This is the Carthage ISD Instructional Philosophy Blog.  The purpose of this blog is to serve as a resource for teachers in the area of instruction and student engagement.  As part of this blog, we will provide teachers specific pages that delve deeper into specific areas of engagement as well as strategies to increase rigor within the engagement components.

Below are two examples of the gradual release engagement model as developed by Douglas Fisher and Nancy Frey.  Please review the components and identify practices that are in place in your current instruction and components that you would like to learn more about.  We hope you enjoy this resource.
